Plastic pollution is the accumulation of plastic particles and objects in the earth’s environment that adversely affect humans, wildlife, and wildlife habitat. Plastics are expensive and durable. These are the reason why the plastics productions by humans are very high and the demands keep on increasing day by day. Human activities have the potential to endanger human life and the natural ecosystems. This is experienced when plastics such as plastics bottle, plastic bags, etc are being utilized, it is realized that they are discarded recklessly without thinking of what will be the consequence. That is why the present study was to investigate awareness of plastic pollution and its causes and effect among the people of the Serfanguri area. The study was limited to villages under the Serfanguri area, Dotma Block only. The population of the study comprises of 15th villages. The present study sample consists of 30 villagers out of the total population by using simple random sampling. After the data collection, we found that many villages area don’t have a dustbin to throw the plastic so, this is the main reason about causes of plastics pollution in the area of Serfanguri. Overall 45% of people don’t know the effect of plastics pollution if we need a good environment and want to protect against plastics pollution first we give knowledge to this 45% of people about the effect of plastics pollution.
