Abstract The Harry Potter series, written by J.K. Rowling, has become a popular culture phenomenon, captivating audiences of all ages since its debut in 1997. The series has had a significant impact on students' cultural literacy and identity formation in the classroom. This paper aims to systematically explore the ways in which the Harry Potter series has influenced students' cultural understanding, appreciation, and identity formation, as well as the ways in which it can be integrated into the classroom curriculum to enhance learning. The research will be based on a comprehensive review of the literature and will include an analysis of the themes, motifs, symbols, and cultural influences present in the series. Furthermore, it will examine the potential benefits of using the series in the classroom, including its ability to foster cultural literacy, identity formation, and critical thinking skills. The study will also explore the series' potential as a tool to discuss and analyse current societal issues such as prejudice, racism, and discrimination. The Harry Potter series can be an effective tool for enhancing learning in the classroom and can be integrated into various subjects such as literature, history, language arts, sociology, psychology, and philosophy.
