Geography is the study of the relationship between humans and the environment. The elements of the environment in which humans live are the surface climate, land, plants, animals, etc. The study of human beings has sub-components such as human groups, business, religion, art, literature, trade, transport, communication, etc. With the passage of time, geography has changed in meaning and scope. In ancient times, geography meant describing the earth, reciting lists of mountains, peaks, oceans, bays, rivers was the study of geography, with the increasing spread of knowledge, the scope of this subject has increased greatly, geography is a dynamic subject. Geography has been included in Social Science at the higher secondary level. At the higher secondary level, students who have taken admission in all the three streams namely Arts, Commerce and Science can opt for Geography. 100 marks exam is conducted for geography subject. In this, 80 marks are divided for theoretical part and 20 marks for practical work. The 80 marks exam is conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. Practical examination of 20 marks is conducted in higher secondary schools as per Maharashtra State Board of Education rules. Weightage of practical work is 33%. Practical work is useful for understanding the information in the theoretical section. Teachers and students are important in the education process, while the teacher is teaching in the classroom, the students must understand the elements and sub-elements that they are teaching, the students must understand those elements and sub-elements, only then the teaching and learning process is successful, while teaching the practical geography elements and sub-elements. Regarding those components, proper use of educational materials, equipment for sub-components makes learning easier, easier, students will use the equipment when students are asked to do actual activities, will help to change the pedagogical approach to emphasize active learning. There are separate labs for chemistry, physics, biology in the science department, similarly there is a separate geography room for geography. Many types of maps are necessary while teaching geography subjects and doing practical work. There should be an arrangement to keep these educational tools and equipment in one room. A geography room should have racks for maps, cupboards for equipment. Geography room should be according to the number of students. So that the students can organize the practical work in this room, due to the separate geography room, the students will use the educational materials, equipments properly, all the educational materials, equipments will be kept in one safe place and it will be possible to use them at the right time.
