Abstract:
This research explores women's political participation in global perspective, focusing on their representation, barriers, and the impact of increased participation. It examines historical context, socio-cultural, legal, economic, and institutional factors that hinder women's engagement. The study also discusses the impact of increased women's participation on policymaking, governance, and democratic processes. The findings emphasize the need to address these barriers for gender equality and inclusive governance. Recommendations are provided for policymakers, civil society, and international organizations to empower women as political leaders.
