Abstract- The research paper titled "A Comparative Study of the Academic Achievement and Motivation of Boys and Girls" presents a comparative analysis of students' academic success and their levels of motivation. Both academic achievement and motivation are considered crucial elements in the field of education, as motivation renders students active, aware, and goal-oriented in their studies. The primary objective of this study is to examine the differences in academic achievement and motivation levels between boys and girls. A descriptive survey method was employed for this study. Students from selected schools were included as the sample. Data collection involved the use of academic achievement marksheets and a motivation scale. The collected data were analyzed using the mean, standard deviation, and the 't'-test. The study's findings revealed that the academic achievement of girls was higher than that of boys; similarly, girls appeared to possess higher levels of motivation. The research also established a positive correlation between motivation and academic achievement; students exhibiting higher levels of motivation demonstrated superior academic performance. This study could prove useful for teachers, parents, and policymakers. It emphasizes the importance of adopting appropriate teaching strategies and creating a conducive educational environment to enhance student motivation, thereby facilitating improvements in the academic achievement of both boys and girls.
