Financial inclusion is a crucial instrument for achieving inclusive and sustainable economic development. Despite constitutional recognition and progressive legal reforms, the transgender community in India continues to face systemic exclusion from formal financial systems and economic opportunities. This study examines the extent of financial inclusion and economic participation of the transgender community in Maharashtra. It analyzes access to banking services, credit facilities, employment opportunities, government welfare schemes, and entrepreneurial activities. Using primary and secondary data, the study identifies key barriers such as lack of identity documentation, discrimination, low financial literacy, and weak implementation of welfare policies. The paper concludes with policy suggestions aimed at promoting inclusive finance and dignified economic participation for the transgender community.
